I agree with QPH. Escorts could hardly constitute a must have like food & oxygen.
So, it comes higher up the heirarchy of needs. I would consider it a luxury, which by it's very description would lead you to expect to be charged handsomely.
The problem arises when adictive luxuries (drink, drugs, gambling, sex) become needs for those dependant on them.
Maybe anyone who can produce documented evidence of addiction to sex could get a discounted rate due to the service no longer being a luxury ?
