Who knows? I wasn't an avid fan of hers, she done some good work however she also made some very bad decisions, she dangled the carrot, we all bit, then she whipped it away & left the country in tatters. Cannot fault her for being a stubborn, hard nosed policitian though.

In memory of an awesome woman Laura Lee RIP
It's so difficult to articulate just how much she meant. Inspirational, brave and irreplaceable - our hero.
Please do what you can for her daughter. Deeply appreciated.

Not a very popular woman on this island after she let 10 men die on hunger strike in 1981.

that's bizzare, i was reading a piece on her in the sunday times last night about her relationship with mandela and i couldn't for the life of me remember if she was still alive.. and now she's not.
she was always pretty dispised in this country but i lived in london during the last few years of her reign and while her power was beginning to wain she was still very popular with white working class english people which i couldn't understand when you think back to her stance with the miners in the '80s.
i've no doubt she'll get a state funeral, whatever you may think of her politics, what she achieved as a woman was ground breaking.

Coal mining is a northern enterprise. Londoners won't care because they think anyone above the Watford Gap is a peasant
