The kings of spin have been threatening this, that and the other for a long time now. It's obvious they have a big army and a lot of lives would be lost if this thing with the US/South Korea gets nasty but surely they are not capable of half the crap they come out with? Im no fan of US foreign policy but would they really be the bad guys here? I feel sorry for the innocent people on both sides of that border because it's them who will be taking the full force of the conflict.

didn't they launch a test missle that barely even made it to their coastline I doubt the US has anything to worry about haha

That is true up to a point but there is one snag. The Norks have over a million people in their army and they are all getting the messages about the looming imperative to destroy the evil enemy and the certainty of glorious victory.

Are we sure that none of those million and a bit will decide to be the dude who fires the glorious first shot? Are we sure that the folks in the south will recognise it as a lone nutter or will they fear the start of the next round in the Korean war and respond?

As for the current situation, the last thing that the political and military leaders in the North would want is reunification. They would lose all of their privileges and power and they know it. Agree with you there. The North Korean leadership certainly doesn't want reunification. What they would like is to invade South Korea and forcefully take the financial wealth. Just think about the multinationals owned by the South - Samsung, Hyundai, just to name a few.

But that's not going to happen either, as the U.S. are strong allies of the South. Infact what seems to have prompted this wave of anti US demonsatrations was the recent joint U.S. - South Korean military training exercises involving Stealth bombers!

Its amazing how so many people can be brain washed by so few.

well south korea did invade the north korea it started the korea war. however they got there butt kicked and north korea nearly drove them into the sea. because the news media reported it the wrong way around does not make it true. American imperial empire but instead of calling it the imperial empire with legions of soldiers in each country they call it freedom and demoracy and spreading free speach. which is fine as long as you spread pro american message.
