The tax man will always over estimate earnings, rather than underestimate too, so unless you can prove their estimate to be wrong you could be stung for a hell of a lot of money. It's much better to declare than let them take every penny you have and possibly leave you in a worse position than you started in.

After all Ruhama are spending tax payers money with their claims and campaigns.

Plus if you were registered for tax then certain business items, as Amber mentioned condoms would be tax deductible - as would rent and other outgoings.

    Just a thought.
Yes fair point, but that is using the assumption that the Ladies register as escorts and not as therapists etc.

I think it would be better to look at the money generated by Sex Workers, with regards to costs. The problem is that the majority of us are not resident in Ireland (what ever title we register) under, so they would not directly benefit through tax in that way as much as through the fuel, food and accommodation costs that we pay while over here. Most of us pay a premium and hotels are not cheap. It's better to emphasize what we bring in, rather than what we take out.

"Irish escorts do not pay tax on prostitution job. UK escorts pay taxes in their country with the money got from prostitution in Ireland"

Erm. I don't get it. Currently the laws in the UK and Ireland are pretty much the same. It has been my experience that the tax man doesn't give a damn what job title you give yourself once you are paying him his due tax.

I know girls that register as escorts giving them the benefit of being able to claim for condoms so on but the majority would say they were therapists and such like. I feel like if you want to be a legit tax payer you will be. Is the option of being self employed not available in Ireland or something?

Escorting in Ireland is not illegal and in my opinion saying because you are an escort you cannot pay tax is odd. What are your opinions?
Thanks for the thread very helpful for many girls.

I am about to do the same. I was investigating all the possibilities.

For the girls that decide to stay and live in Ireland it can be very helpful.

This is my new target, and getting a kitten.

As far as I know, from an accounting point of view, as a self employed, freelance person you pay tax in your country of residence in accord with the laws there.

Beyond that you do have to register as self employed here and I am not sure how they would deal with any attempt to register as a sex worker, but having said that I have a friend who is freelance (not in sex work) and honestly cannot even give me a concise job description...yet manages to pay tax.

This is also true...ye are all frantically paying VAT and various forms of duty to the Irish Government for just about every aspect of your stay here.

Just waiting for the winter to go away so i can finish hibernating, and go out of my cave and start working at the "tax project".

Regarding the kittens, i am trying to get one from the shelters. I didn't find the perfect cat yet. I am still looking for chemistry

Yup exactly. When I opened up my first Irish bank account they asked me about my residency and where I paid tax. Being that I spent most of my time in the UK I was given non resident account.

I think you know when a kitty is "the one". I am the same with shelters but it's hard as many of there cats are full grown and I think it's nice to raise a cat from when it's small. Any how lol, more tax talk and less cat talk x
