Stop with your generalisations. I know UK escorts that pay taxes in Ireland as it is their home.
This is about the fact that it is legal to pay tax as an escort and the ways of paying without even saying you're an escort.
I don't think we will actually and I don't do prayers.

I have to agree Amber, as a tax payer it's very annoying to hear people saying that they "can't" pay tax but I have to accept that some of them actually can't. What I do find more annoying is escorts who choose not to, in all the years I'm punting I've met two that have mentioned paying tax, yourself being one, all the others have just brushed the conversation under the carpet or laughed when it came up.

When I used to work in hostess clubs in London, clients would get inflated receipts from the club for drinks/food and claim as expenses under 'entertaining clients'
They were certainly 'entertained'
& for the record I am self employed and have been paying tax for years.

Because most of those English girls are touring and spend over a certain amount of time in the UK and are therefor classed as UK residents and must pay their tax there, most of the Brazilian girls would be classed as resident in Ireland under their student visas and must conduct their tax affairs here, that's my under standing of it anyway.

You'd wonder if the Dail would be more interested in not legislating if they would lose revenue from those escorts that paid tax? Sounds simplistic, but at the moment the escort trade is under the radar in revenue terms, if taxes were paid perhaps this attitude would change. After all Ruhama are spending tax payers money with their claims and campaigns.
Plus if you were registered for tax then certain business items, as Amber mentioned condoms would be tax deductible - as would rent and other outgoings.
Just a thought.

That's the thing, I reckon if they said yup it's all illegal they would see a lot more tax money. Because currently there are of course many ladies like Rachel. Ladies that are refusing to pay tax as they don't feel their job is legal enough so won't pay. Which is illegal but their prerogative of course. But I reckon if the government said we will de criminalise all aspects of sex work then lots more ladies will feel happy to pay.
