Erm. Hello my name is Amber and I am an EU citizen. I was simply pointing out that it's easier for EU cititizens , such as myself, to pay tax

It gives one the same feeling as hearing about inept bankers being given golden handshakes and huge pensions after lumbering taxpayers with the bill for their reckless mistakes.
Escorts seeking to pay even the bare minimum of tax, immediately brings more respect for their industry, and sympathy for legislation that might favour them.
I applaud anyone who registers to pay tax, and like myself I hope they get a hard working accountant in their corner.
Done it ; got one xx

Fair play doc... (jaysus, welcome back... Where dafuq were u)

This is an interesting thread. Not only for those resident escorts that feel exposed by not paying taxes but also for the non-nationals that want to rent apts here and get bank accounts etc.. and are finding it hard. I have been asked in the past to give statements of emoyment to girls looking to get paper work for apts... It's not easily done in fairness. But registering as a sole trader sounds good... If it can be done.

Hey Steph... Have you got your own apt? What words of advice would you give to girls looking to get their own.

If you decide not to pay tax, unfortunately, it will come back to haunt you ( as mentioned in other posts regarding "gaps" in your life ).
The one difficulty I see regarding inland revenue is that touring escorts do (or may) not have a Pernanent address (fixed abode) in this country.
My advice would be not to say you are involved in illegal activity because then you are involving the CAB
If you are resident in this country for a number of days in the year you are liable to pay tax. The Revenue Commissioners are not worried if your work is legal or illegal! (CAB came after all the Drug Barons and sent them huge bills) . They will estimate your earnings plus very severe penalties and send you the bill!

    funny man xx

My recommendation ? I can only relate my personal experience : I came over with close to 10k $ in my pocket, had an expensive

coat on and spoke fluent American English. I could reference hospitals and a particular profession as my future employment.

Walk into a Real Estate office and speak with confidence. Put money on the table.

For other girls ? I truly don't know. It's daunting. Even with my background, I had to be on my toes to have the right

answers at the ready. It's really a shame making it so difficult*. I'd say must have work references, previous residence

references, and do have bank account info to show a substantial amount on account..

And this is where a friend would be / could be vital.

*but I must say I also have tenants, and they too have to jump through hoops. It depends on which perspective you are considering..
I do what I want. I cannot do otherwise.

I haven't kept up to date with tax legislation for a few years, but there are 2 different types of residency for tax purposes:- resident and ordinarily resident. If I remember correctly, you are resident in Ireland (for tax purposes) if you are here for 183 days per calendar year. In this case, being in the country at midnight means 1 day. If you were to enter at 0:01 and leave by 23:59, for tax purposes, you are deemed not to have been in the country. ***I know there was talk of changing this, but I'm not sure if they have***.

You can be resident in Ireland, and ordinarily resident (for tax purposes) in another country. Depending on the various tax treaties and relevant legislation, you may be liable for tax on worldwide income in your country of ordinary residence. You might be able to claim any tax paid in Ireland against your tax bill in another country.

You become ordinarily resident in Ireland after 3 years of tax residency.

As others have stated, setting up and registering as self employed is advisable as it reduces the possibility of a tax audit. From what I have heard, this is a stressfull experience even if your tax affairs are in order. Revenue inspectors can observe lifestyles and compare the observed lifestyle to tax returns and enqire about any percieved discrepancies.

There are ways to ensure tax compliance if you want to.

A tax advisor or tax accountant would be a good investment for someone looking to set up as a business.

Okay people , this thread is open now.
I would like to ask all of you to stay on topic and discuss taxes. I would like to see this thread as much informative as possible for escorts who have no clue about taxes.

I removed some comments that have been made here, comments containing insults, provocation and comments that are not relevant to topic.

If any person has any issue with any post already made then please report rather than respond in abusive manner.

    Thank you
