Post January 30th, is when Mahatma Gandhi's was assassinated..!!!

On this day 65 years ago, the world mourned the loss of an iconic spiritual leader whose influence is still felt globally...for me he is still and was a remarkable man..RIP, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi..

Could be argued that his mix of religion and politics actually caused the alienation of Indian Muslims, and the creation of what became Pakistan....causing years of conflict

When he was assassinated he was only 78-year-old of age and was described in his own Country as 'god'....

I would not put the Kennedy's in the same class as Ghandi,Lincoln etc, nothing to be proud of even though the Irish, esp Wexford make a fuss about them having roots here, their father was as close to being a ganster as you could get, while JFK was no altar boy.

Helix ,I am suprised, the film of his life was on the telly a cuple of years ago,he was always taking on the establishment to get people their rights,I seem to remember he started out as a lawer in south Africa, bet he was popular there with the ruling class, his right to make salt brought things to a head eith the British Raj,a peaceful man,if he had not been assassinated he may well have solved things in the Indian region.

As I said, many argue he helped cause it. I would never take a Biopic as fact.

Still, my knowledge of the subject is patchy, so I wouldn't argue it, just know it is argued
