Thread: Do Clothes Make a Man .. ?

Arrow Do Clothes Make a Man .. ?

Of course first impressions are so important ! And inadvertently we all make judgement calls based on how a person is dressed.

Clothing is an important signifier of social class, hobbies, worldview, living conditions, environments , etc...

But, do you ever find your first impression being proven wrong ?

Is it wrong to 'mislead' others by wearing clothes that is not your comfort zone ? Or is it kinda nice to find someone to

be other than you expected them to be .. ?

Is it mischief to dress as a cowboy but not know the first thing about a lasso ; is it wrong to pretend to be an Opera afficionado

when in fact you don't know the first thing about it, nor does it hold any interest for you ?

When does clothing become deceit.. or does it ?

What do you think about it all ? ............................................ xx
I do what I want. I cannot do otherwise.

Yes, I think it is wrong to dress like someone else.

I know a few people who dress how they think they should dress and not how they want to and it justs make me feel sorry for them cause they arent comfortable. Also you are giving the wrong impression.

I dress the way I like, what I think is stylish, and what Im comfortable in.
I have a few different styles I like to wear, and havent had any complaints, or bad reactions from people.

But, I could always be wrong in my opinion
You wont know, until you try!

if you can tell a lot about a man by the way he dresses, what can you tell about a man that changes his look and image every day?

"Clothing is an important signifier of social class, hobbies, worldview, living conditions, environments , etc..."
with the world more and more casual, everyone is dressing the same, which makes it hard to tell social class from the way someone dresses. that's a good thing imo. less likely to judge :-)
Thank you all the ladies I had pleasure of meeting. Forever grateful for the memories

One of the richest men I ever came across I never saw him in a suit. Another example of this is Ml O'Leary. I kinda admire people who have tonnes of money and don't flaunt it.

Absolutely not , they might make an asshole look dapper , but he's still an asshole .
