    Thumbs up The Sessions

I stumbled upon this movie coming out next month that I found interesting and am looking forward to and so I decided as there doesn’t be much going on in the Disabled Client’s Section I’d share it with everyone here just in case anyone’s interested and as it involves a disabled guy and a sex worker.

    Its called ‘The Sessions’.

It stars Helen Hunt and William H. Macy (who I think is an amazing actor and is one of my favourites). Its supposed to have some nude scenes of Helen Hunt in it so if nothing else that’s good enough for me to go see it.

Please find below as description of the film (from IMDB) and the trailer:-

A man in an iron lung who wishes to lose his virginity contacts a professional sex surrogate with the help of his therapist and priest.

"Live for nothing or die for something, your call."

I know what this is based on: I remember watching a documentary on a 30-something year old paralysed man who had about 6months to live. He didn't want to die without losing his virginity; I believe it was the church who assisted him in arranging for an escort.

I was wondering if anyone remembers/knows the name of that documentary and where i can find it?

It looks a good film, and a funny one as well, the shoveller is in it as the priest so should be a blast.

Lads just letting you know this movie is supposed to be out in cinemas this weekend, however I’ve looked at my local cinemas and there not showing it. So I’ve taken a look at one of the file sharing sites that I use to see if I could get a copy of it and I did. Perfect copy and so if you want to download it yourself PM me and I’ll send you the link to where you can.

Hey ladytron I’m really sorry mate I’m only replying to your question now but I just didn’t see it.

Anyway, as far as I know the documentary you were asking about is called ‘Breathing Lessons: The Life and Work of Mark O'Brien.’

I’ve taken a look on every site I can think of but I can’t seem to find a copy of it, however I’m going to try some of the forums I’m on to see if I can get a copy from someone on there. If I do I’ll let you know.

it really annoys me people attitudes about disabilties, because u are confined to a bed or wheel chair but of sound mind does not mean u loose ur intreast in sex or longing for it

as the saying goes it is better to loved and lost that to never love at all,

the sunday world did an article featuring mine and tiff pics saying we where desperate hookers preying on people with disabilites
take our privacy been invaded away, the article was appauling, ur not less a person because u been given a bad hand in life ffs

i have clients with severe disabilties and i tell u there twice the men than some i know

in an ideal world they find love and understanding partners, but it not an ideal world sooner people face that the better
