In memory of an awesome woman Laura Lee RIP
It's so difficult to articulate just how much she meant. Inspirational, brave and irreplaceable - our hero.
Please do what you can for her daughter. Deeply appreciated.

That Judge is an idiot, whatever country he is in.
I am fairly certain that his legal career will come to a swift end on the back of his personal opinion
"The commission found that Johnson's view that a victim must resist to be a real victim of sexual assault was his opinion,
not the law. Since 1980, California law has not required rape victims to prove they resisted or were prevented from resisting."
I think Ireland has a similar law on the books, since 1982 ??
What's on in the UK ?
I do what I want. I cannot do otherwise.
I know, but how many news stories do we hear about Colombians opening fire in schools? 17th out of 65 countries is still extremely shocking for what we consider to be a civilised country. I do agree that the gun laws are out-dated, and the only reason people are allowed guns is to protect themselves from people with guns.

In Ireland and the UK it's not on the books as such, it's a common law position.

How many reports of stupid Colombian Judicial decisions do you hear of ??
On the same day of the US shooting, in China a man went into a school and stabbed 22 little kids. Horrific.
Yet, was there wall-to-wall coverage on it ?? Reporting on US is so much more sensational !! Sells so much better !
We can go in circles.. . My only point is that I think it is wrong to make blanket statements, to condemn a whole country for
some mentally deranged people's acts. Or based on the opinion of an idiot on the Bench.
We are a big country (population 309 million !!). We're bound to have some idiots and some maniacs. And they make great coverage.
Even one, even one single life lost to violence is one too many. You won't get any argument from me on that.
But to make a comment "level of stupidity in US" is just not right.
So let's get back on topic : Hm, was it about 3 years ago ? In Ireland a man raped a woman in a parking lot, behind a club (I think) ,
he was caught on CCTV. Was sentenced (don't know the terms), yet the woman was shunned by her community because
she 'had a reputation' ; and at the sentencing the local priest spoke up in defence of the man, and there was a line of
well wishers to the man on his bad fortune to actually have to do time for a brutal rape committed .
I could be wrong on details, please do correct me. xx
