Thread: Ignorant ICTU leadership members

  1. Default Ignorant ICTU leadership members

Wish the worst of luck to the ICTU in their support for TOTRL cancerous campaign. They are breaking the Guinness book of records for the greatest number of ignorant people in the one spot. They are buying a house with cracks and dampness in its walls without a surveyor and they are buying a car with a broken timing belt without a mechanic.

They are IGNORANT about the way sex work operates.

They are IGNORANT about the needs of people with disabilities.

They are IGNORANT about people’s civil rights.

They are IGNORANT about the behaviour and opinions of sex workers and clients.

They are IGNORANT about the spreading of sexually transmitted diseases.

They want to breathe more ignorance. They are like the people during the Plague who blamed cats for the deaths.

It is very slanderous to be associating all clients of sex workers with the raping of a 14 year old girl.

Why don’t they ask the clients on this site if they support abusing children? Why don’t they ask the escorts on this site if they are working under force or willingly?

Also how dare they say that they speak for workers on this issue!

It is very possible to be involved in sex work without being a criminal in the same way as it is very possible to work in a licensed public house without being like the Viper.

How is sex work the scourge of Europe? Is looking at scantly clad models in a fashion magazine the scourge of Europe? Is eating chocolate the scourge of Europe? There is plenty of slavery going on in the cocoa business but that doesn’t mean that you make generalisations.

During anti-trafficking day they should start by separating out the issue of trafficking with that of sex work.

I say contact the ICTU and put a damper on their spirit.

But Jack, does any of this surprise you?

I was driving around away from the hype and the propaganda a couple of days ago and I realised something I should have been seeing all along:

OF COURSE the ICTU is anti-sex worker, sex workers are anathema to the ICTU because they are *SELF EMPLOYED PEOPLE*. In the real world (not TORL propaganda) the normal, everyday interests of sex workers will conflict with the issues of their PAYE members EVERY STEP OF THE WAY.

Even taxation issues are in direct conflict...AND...to make it more fun...*IF* they did support sex worker rights then a few self employed car mechanics, plumbers et al will be more than entitled to jump up and say:

"OI!!! What have they got that we haven't?" and the ICTU could be drowning in deep hot water. The ICTU can never support us unless PAYE brothels were legalised...

...but they could have stayed neutral...

So my answer is to stand, rause my fist and yell:

"TURN OFF THE CROKE PARK AGREEMENT"

Because they DO support the Croke Park agreement that is still paying out insane salaries, direct from the public purse, to public servants who do little or noting all day except intrigue and sanction huge tranches of funding for their cronies in the NGO sector, like, for example, TORL member orgs...

The upper echelons of these unions certainly are not living in the real world. A good thing about the recession is that it is helping to try and bring them down to earth. Turn off the Croke Park agreement is what we should start saying.

The claims of TOTRL that they have the support of a million or so union members are completely false. Many workers are in unions because they believe rightly or wrongly that the union will help them with disputes with managers etc or that they would be forced to pass a picket in the event of a strike. Vast amounts of workers certainly don't support criminalising the clients of sex workers and were not consulted on the matter.
