Irish government spends over a hundred million dollars annually on asylum seekers
The Irish government are spending over a hundred million dollars annually on asylum seekers – including thousands of dollars on diapers for their children.
Over 5,000 asylum seekers are currently in the care of the Irish authorities as they seek a new life in Ireland.
A new report states that the $100 million cost of processing their applications includes a payment for diapers.
They are listed as a miscellaneous cost of housing the 5,000-plus people looking for shelter in Ireland according to the Irish Sun newspaper.
Ireland’s justice minister Alan Shatter has defended the payments and said his officials are ‘fully entitled’ to authorise the expenditure.
“The procurement process was subject to scrutiny in the Value For Money review,” insisted Minister Shatter.
“In relation to the services contracted by RIA, such as food, accommodation and ancillary services, these, by definition, have to be provided in Ireland.
“Our review has confirmed the unique challenges in looking after asylum seekers and refugees.”
Accommodation costs amounted for the majority of the $100million spent on asylum seekers in 2011.
A staggering $80million was paid out to 37 privately owned centres housing refugees, seven of which have since closed.
Two commercially owned self-catering hostels and seven state-owned facilities also house refugees at a cost to the Irish state.
Shatter claims the costs will drop by eight per cent in 2012.
His department has reported that the number seeking refugee status dropped from a high of 10,038 in 2000 to just to 1,290 in 2011.
Only 239 people applied during the first three months of 2012. There are currently 5,169 asylum seekers in Ireland, a thousand fewer than in 2010.
Nigerians make up the biggest number, followed by refugees from Pakistan, China, Democratic Republic of Congo and war-torn Afghanistan.
Minister Shatter has signed 1,500 deportation orders in the past 14 months but just over 300 people have actually been sent home.

If i had another job i would not be taken money from my work but getting paid for it ,if i was not treated well i could anytime quit the job so on so forth ,not always the case in escorting for an agency....
How would a independent should play fair towards and agency????
Agencies run a business as well as independent girls fair enough but i have not heard an independent escort to kick out the ap door of the agency,i did not heard haressing agencies in the location they are in but vice versa ,if was to be a mutual respect i am sure things would have been look at it in a diferent light...
As for agency protecting the business from independents that charge less well this is why they are independent to charge whatever they like and not being indebted by those to ask a certain rate....
Don't miss my visit in your town/city...

I have not read alll the posts on this thread, I have read the majority and I have to say that it borders on intolerance, there are many nationalities who exploit the asylum facilities of all the richer countrys. The word "Independent" is contextual in this discussion, why do I say this? cause i used to see a girl on a regular basis, she always complained she could not make much money and she was definitely independent, in so much as she arranged her Accom., her adds and her appointments, then
she went home, when she returned she went to an agency, the only difference she told me between being an independent, as she was, and being with an agency was that she did not arrange her Accom. or her adds but she did say she
chose when she worked and if she really did not want to see someone she could make that choice herself. Of course she paid a percentage of her earningsto the agency but she said it worked out better for her. The fact is that there is no black and white in this, just a hundred shades of grey. As for "the swedish model" I cannot see the Leinster House passing such a bill, most of them would be Arrested within a week of the Law being passed
It is of no importance who you vote for, what makes the difference is who counts the votes.

I'm reopening this thread. Let's keep the thread on topic please.
If someone cannot speak perfect English but wishes to work in Ireland, it doesn't mean that they shouldn't work in Ireland. After all, escorts make lots of money in Ireland. I am friends with people from a Polish community that can't speak English very well, but work in the UK because our economy is a damn-sight better than their own. Why should they not work in Ireland? Also, despite my friends not being able to speak much English, I can still have a drink with them and actually have fun communicating through gestures and body language, and drawing silly pictures. Besides, there are punters that can speak some of the languages too, it's not just escorts that are poly-lingual.
