I don't think Rachel is 'selling' the idea, I think she is just trying to understand why agencies are such a stigma in Ireland. I see people asking where the agencies are in Ireland, and the truth is obvious; they are being driven underground because of the mentality towards them. It is no wonder dodgy pimps are supposedly thriving in this business and everything's a facade, and I do agree with Brock that this mentality is instilled in the minds of clients because of a) NGO 'down with this sort of thing' propaganda and b) there are 'true independents' that play on the extent of the issues.
That is not to say that there aren't dodgy agencies, but likewise people would be surprised that
some of the 'truest of independents' have probably also been involved in working for or running agencies themselves. There is nothing wrong with that if all parties are happy with the arrangements, and if this wasn't such a big stigma and agency escorts could work in peace, perhaps they would be open about it. Look at the number of our London agency escort advertisers:

And Edinburgh, out of 33 escorts, a third of them are agency:

In Cardiff, out of 37 escorts, 19 are agency:

As someone correctly said before, in Dublin, there are NONE advertising. There are two ways of looking at this; i) 90% of these women are 'dodgy', but it's more likely ii) escorts will be hounded by the media and by the witch-hunt mentality of some posters here. People wonder why they keep using fake pictures too? There are agencies that may circulate profiles, let's not be naive, however these people keep getting caught out using them, so consider that they may be using fake pictures because God forbid their real pictures are publicly labelled as a 'no-go' dodgy escort. I'm not saying it's right, but I do suspect that this plays a major part in this issue.
This is also why we mark 'verified' or 'not verified' and advise people to factor their reviews, fake photo reports and verification status.
