Sorry I'm late (plus ça change ...) but a huge well done to everyone who went and spoke up.
That takes guts and courage and I'm thrilled to see more Irish ladies standing up for themselves.

If E-I turned up, we would be accused of just protecting our best interests anyway!
We are a company that happens to post adverts on behalf of escorts in Ireland (as well as other countries) and despite being a business, we do care for sex workers and passionately agree that all sex workers should be able to have the freedom of choice when it comes to being a sex worker. I think in this case, it is wise for E-I to take a step back from this conference so that the real issues can be focused on, that is the possibility of criminalising clients that pay for sex. The debate shouldn't be whether or not advertising should be removed from cyber-space.

My apologize for bumping this thread but it is MINE !! lol
Seriously, I have been invited to a meeting where will be discussed again, about the new law on prostitution legislation.
Basically I will focus myself in a few things:
-2 girls sharing accommodation
-criminalizing the client will drive this industry underground
-sex between 2 adults who consent an sexual act is not state s business
First we do not want to be put in the position to say we are trafficked to avoid "brothel keeper" record when in fact we are not forced into prostitution . Safety it is important as a human being first of all and by the law at the moment we do not have it.
Good clients will look for sex somewhere else, bad ones will remain active as they do not care about the law and we will be in danger by having to see them in order to make some money.
In case the client will be criminalize , once the police it is in an apartment, he will be the goal of their operation and not the lady and she could be forced into prostitution. I am sure the police will not bother to check her out, as it is not their mission.
(I wonder how in Sweden are soo many human trafficking when the escort it is not the target, it is the client, it is beyond me)
Rape it is sex without consent.
Escorts give their consent to have sex with customers, therefore it is not rape.
Consensual sexual act between 2 adults is not state s business and in fact is nobody s business.

Well done Rachel. You should be really proud of what you have done.
Help Keyla in her fight with cancer. Every little helps.
It could happen to any of us.
