So, when we’ve gone home and the excitement is over, what is the essence of that which we remember most from the liaisons with our escort friends? Yes, we recall the intimacy, the physicality and maybe, even the sex. But, as I move through middle age, the over-riding memory is invariably the sense of vitality that I’ve just shared. There is an infusion of youth gained from our meeting. And yes, all of you are youngsters in my eyes now.

It’s not that we are precluded from meeting the young out there in the real world. Many of us lead them in our work, teach them in our schools or nurture them in our homes. But in those mutual minutes with you we consume your vigour and animation, that essence of life from which our own soul drifts ever further away each passing day.

Sex or vitality? Sex or vitality?..........hmm.........I think I'm erring towards the latter.

    Very interesting blog. I'm at a similar stage in life as you and share many of your reflections. But while I absolutely love 'vitality', I would place intimacy, physicality and sex all ahead of it

    In 50 years there hasn't been many more perfect days than this.
