Q1: Was he penniless because he made the statue out of all his pennies, then when on deaths door as he had no money left to feed himself so sold the statue for a few quid but that wasn't able to sustain him so he died??

He made the statue out of a heavy metal such as s mercury, plutonium, or lead. When he completed it and sold it he died of s mercury, plutonium, or lead poisoning.
