CityLife or CountryLiving

Rate this Entry

So- I am a city girl through and through. I was born in the big smoke, have lived in the city of love and head to the city that never sleeps at least 3 times a year.
I love the noise, 24 hour manicures and the general anarchy living in a city brings. I am a very last minute person so the 1 hour dry cleaning service on my street save my life and I keep them afloat. I love to dine at the most random times- Chinatown satisfies that craving. I am the worlds worst driver so being able to catch a tube or a bus at anytime of the day is a must for me. Also let it be noted that my patience can be rather nonexistent so that tube or bus needs to be with me within 5 minutes!

Don’t get me wrong I adore the country side. What’s not to love? Mud, insects and farm animals right No but seriously there is something rather nice about being able to walk for 30 minutes without seeing a single soul, recognising people on the streets and breathing air that doesn’t feel like it’s killing you.

When I go to festivals in the countryside I love to camp. I have a big leopard print tent that is super chic and gets lots of attention lol. I ditch the straighteners (hide them in my handbag), use those dirty toilets (flirt to get to the front of the queue) and drink cider out of cans. The Cider bit is true.

I have been in Tralee, Kerry for 2 days now and I feel like I may be converted to living in a small town. Perhaps as a city-dweller I have a romanticised view of the countryside but to wake up everyday and see such beautiful scenery seems like a dream. See the photo attached. I have hardly been able to work for staring out the window and on my trip here I sounded like a little kid- “Look a castle!” “Look a lake!”.

I think I can defiantly see myself eventually settling somewhere where the grass is green and the views are pretty. But for now- I’m going to stick to the hustle and bustle of London and maybe get a pet chicken

Kisses from Kerry

    Hey Ember!!

Im definately a country girl!! Born in country side and love it to bits!!

The nice thing about living in small towns, everybody know you and visa versa. So help is always available at short notice. The word gets around fast!!!

City is good for now and again. Its is definately great for shopping!! People is so busy in the city, pre-occupied with their own things, work, issues, petty stuff!! No wonder they are stressed out all the time. Pure pressure of being successful to achieve this and that ...

There is no need. They are so busy on the road to success, on arrival they noticed they missed out on valuable memories, achievements, relationships ...

Yes, Kerry have a beatiful scenery, but hey, so is the whole of Ireland!!

    Have a nice day!!

Now leopard skin wellies I would like to see. Theres a field outside my house you're welcome to pitch your tent there, see how you like it. One chipper in the village, two buses a day.
You're probably right about driving, there are enough lunatics on the road as is.
I suggest you plan to take in The Electric Picnic festival on your tour of Ireland. I'll be looking out for the tent !

I think Amber has the best grammer and paragraph structure of anyone else here. Her blogs are a joy to read.
