After I heard about the saga with the site, I created an account just for giggles.

Since then though... I've noticed constant emails saying "The following women have just signed up near you", and then it lists like 7/8+ profiles of women close by.

That kind of stuff has scam written all over it I reckon. :p

As I understand it from a few news articles I read about this, the hackers actually released an accompanying statement with their release of the list of men's names, claiming that they decided to expose not only the men who were seeking to cheat, but the website itself, citing their belief that the majority of women's profiles were fake, thus essentially rendering the site little more than a scam anyway.

AM, the company was\is scum. If you didn't go in and carefully read the options, ou would find yourself automatically signed up for all sorts of unnecessary extras.
