Re-Incarnation...Past Lives....etc?
I have done lots of research and reading on Past Lives etc, and recently have done some Hypnosis Past life regression, with some interesting results.
What do you think?
Not really but i do get a sense of deja-vu from time to time.
In an attempt to get this thread back on track, due to the uncalled for dragging it off topic ;)
I have had experiences in Epypt back in the days of the pharos and also in Native America as a member of a tribe. Very strange, but the experiences made a great deal of sense to things in my current life. Many books on this topic talk about links from past lives having relevance in your current life.
I haven't really read much on the subject but my first reaction would be of course the things your subconcious mind creates would be relevant to your own experiences, I would still like to try it as I would probably be amazed at the stuff mine would churn out.
You only believe in these things, Jackie, because you're undead. :angels5:
We know more about what happens 10 billion light years away then we do 1 inch inside our own heads so I would put past lives experiences down to the workings of the brain which we do not really fully understand then it being a memory of a past life. When we dream is that a past life?... no, its just our minds at work.
and why are past lives always exotic places or famous people? I have never seen someone say their past life was emptying the communal septic tank with a bucket in some out of the way corner of the world 2000 years ago. Its always somewhere well known or a place of historical distinction.
Its probably not true. Everyone who says they are from a past life always ends up saying they were at a cool point in history where something exciting is happening. No one says they were a peasent living in some mundane time. Its all just sensationalism. You read or see something that happend centuries ago and your mind plays tricks on you, the sub conscious asn Freud says is like an ice berg we only know a bout the small bit above the water. Thta which is submerged ,ie our subconsious remains lost to us
I have heard in some very rare cases that sometimes ppl wake up from a coma etc...they can often speak a language they have never learned...ie english speaking person can speak fluent spanish..it has never been truly explained sometimes ppl refer it as a past life experince that they somehow through the years they have retained certain characteristis to someonr they may have been decades ago.
i am def starting to believe in different things. As for past lives they could be possible, nobody knows for sure. If i do get another life after this one (if i deserve one), i would hope i could do a LOT better. This is something that i must do some more research on thats for sure.
I really hope there is something better out there than this shit stain that we call life.
Many people beleive that we have to work our way through many lives, good and bad, to learn lessons and develop our souls. If we do not learn these lessons, we are sent back over and over to learn them.
If you look at the philosophy of Nietzche you come accross his theory of eternal reoccurence. In which he states the universe expands and retracts, ie its born it dies and its reborn again, which we all were around throughout time and every eventuality is played out, this alone could explain de je vu as we have already done the things that we are fortelling, recent astronomical and phsyisist eveidence seems to corroborate this theroy
Would love to think I get another go at life but as I don't I make sure I enjoy this one.
Hypnosis is the activation of the REM mechanism while the sensory channels remain open.
This can be achieved by simulating within the person the state of being in REM such as relaxation, altered breathing, visualization, certain types of language patterns such as metaphor and in some cases swinging a suitable object of focus like a watch or diamond in front of their eyes, which simulates how the eyes move when in the REM state. When the person is purposefully put under these conditions, depending on the person it is not long before their brain will flip or trip if you like, into the hypnotic state.
Because this is an artificially induced state the sensory channels will remain open. This may be because in normal sleep there are stages that we past through before we reach the REM state. With hypnosis all the stages are skipped. With the sensory channels still open this allows for outside influence.
When’s the last time you realized you were dreaming? The vast majority of people will go a life time without ever having an experience were they realize they are dreaming. This is because when dreaming there is another part of our brain which is involved in reality checking and this is not active while the REM state is active So when dreaming or in a hypnotic state we will never realize or question our behavior.
I could write reams more about hypnosis but don’t have the time or energy right now.
I'm open to the idea of past lives but I know a hypnotic state is not the way to explre it.
There is one fundamental problem with the theory behind re-incarnation, and its this:
Because of the massive developments in medicine and other areas, we now find ourselves in the position that more than half the people who ever lived are alive now.
This counter-intuitive fact provides massive logistical problems for proponents of re-incarnation
Not at all, im a factual sorta guy
I don't know what to believe. I just don't think it's possible, as it would seem that your soul goes somewhere, and then comes back in a different form?
I don't believe in having a touchable soul in the form of a ghost, or something like that. I just like to believe this: before your birth there was nothing, you did not exist, so why should there be something like a new life after your death?
