Nope, they do not Jimbo. It always amazes me that probably 90% of the world has at least used a computer but movies still try and stick this crap in all the time.

I have my "computer" set on Silent Mode atm, so I cant answer the question.

Speaking of silent mode ATM's (I know changing the topic) but did you know that the sound produced by an ATM machine is artificial and just added to make us more secure in the fact that the machine is working and dispensing our hard earned cash, read about it HERE

Probably because they want to make it clear that something happened when something was typed or clicked on the computer, langers with no imagination often need all the gaps to be filled in otherwise they loose focus.
