I support the right of women to prize-fight if they choose to do that. I just think boxing is not something that women should be doing; I think it's a little thing that's wrong with the world somehow. Women choosing to brutalise each other in a boxing ring to a predominantly male audience feels wrong to me.

    It's a great question -

The list of sports I would like to be extremely good at mirrors the sports I love to watch – soccer, GAA, hurling, cricket and golf.

For longevity of career, the opportunity to see the world, earning potential and the fact that it is more a solo sport than the others I would choose golf.

Played hurling to a pretty high standard up to a couple of years ago - boxing would be the sport i'd like most to compete at (when you see someone like katie it shows you what a beautiful sport it can be).Having said that, boxing is a sport that most retirees have major problems trying to readjust to normal life. The sheer adrenalin rush of pre-fight nerves deep in the bowels of a dressingroom whilst hearing the roar of the crowd is really gladatorial and primal - never to be replicated in civilian life makes it very hard for former boxers to acclimatise.
