    Default What next for NASA..

    Heres the last launch...


    ..would love to have seen it for real...

    ..and heres a good news article about the future of NASA if anyones interested..looks like space tourisn might fill the void for a while..

    I just think things are now going to move into the private market Apollo because of two things,

    1. People I don’t think care about space and space travel these days like the did in the 60’s 70’s and 80’s.

    2. Countries don’t have the money to spend on it.

    We need new dreams. I'm hoping NASA decides to push towards Mars but it seems like for the moment they're hoping for the private sector to step up with commercial space travel.

    We need to listen to Carl Sagan...

    God help us, the last thing we need is space travel to become commercialised. Private companies have a lot to offer, but I hope only in partnership with an organisation like the UN. Humanity must reach out into space under the authority of its governments, not corporations. We're rightly fucked if we take our squabbles over natural resources between nation-states, companies, or individuals into space.

    I think as well Mousey countries and governments slowly lost interest with space when the Cold War ended, the US and Russia had nothing to compete with each other over since then.
