Scott Williams of Q102 had a show on recently discussing the escort business. I have to hand it to him. He fought our corner a few times and was robust with one person who wanted a ban (the other two were were in favour of the business). At one point he highlighted that Germany and the Netherlands are tolerant of both sex workers and their clients.

You're right there mate, sure wasn't it only in the sixties that Oliver J.Flanagan TD blamed television for bringing sex to Ireland. He said on the Late, Late Show "there was no sex in Ireland before television". Sadly that ilk is still influential here!
