Was browsing another escort site yesterday and noticed several new profiles appearing on the same day for what appear to be young eastern european girls offering a full range of services including unprotected for around £50-£60 and i would be very worried that there are not working of there own free will. But what do you do if you report it to the police without any proof that anything is wrong you could land the girls in trouble when they are just trying to make a living and I for sure am not going to make a appointment to meet anyone who offers unprotected so there is no way to find out how comfortable they are in the job.

You see that is the problem , a independant escort get no trouble with the police but it could help the girls if they ARE trafficked . I understand how dificult this is for a guest to make such desision , but think how the girls feel maybe ! No ofence meant .

Following a tip-off from a well respected British escort who was working in Kilkenny a few months ago, I conducted a five week independent investigation of "independent escorts" during March and April. My initial investigation centered on about five escorts based in Kilkenny, but by tracing their movements via location changes on their adverts, where reviews had been submitted from, profile similarities, photo similarities etc, I was soon observing the movements of almost 20 escorts between Kilkenny, Waterford, Limerick and in some cases, Cork. The typical pattern was that on a particular day, 2 or 3 escorts would move from A to B, a further 2 or 3 from B to C and a similar number from C to A. The majority of these escorts were advertised as Spanish. The degree of organisation was high. My initial source stated that she had seen a number of men hanging around the Kilkenny apartment that some of the escorts were working from at the time. To paraphrase her, "these men were using mobile phones a lot and speaking Romanian". Although I can prove nothing, I don't believe in that level of coincidence any longer, and for my money, this was a Romanian prostitution ring.

A few months ago, I would have doubted the level of trafficking into Ireland, but I tend to agree now with Qph's research findings.

You are right on that view , but how do we difine humantrafficking ? If a lady just pays back what was invested by "helpers" fair deal , but take a part of her income and tell her what to do for what money and tell her wher to stay and how long to work and not able to refuse a guest is kind of human trafficking/pimping !!!! Its not a free choice is it ?
And naturaly you cant put it on few nationalitys , but the chances are higher !!!

I would define trafficking as a woman/man being coerced or forced to work as a prostitute against your will for little or no financial gain. I would define economic migration as a woman, possibly already working as a prostitute, who agrees to go and work in another country and give her agency a set percentage of earnings and is allowed to keep the rest.

There is absolutely no point using nationality, mainly because we don't have affirmative proof of nationality via profile or in person. There are safer indications, such as working 3 to a flat 24 hours a day in Ballykissnowhere, for example. But to say that you must stick to nationalities from western europe just means that tomorrow there will be 45 more profiles from Italy.
