I think being on time shows respect not only to the other, but also to yourself.. Holding yourself in such esteem where your word

Of course there are some very fine Irish people who are as punctual as any other
Punctual? Me? I'm like the most punctual man in Ireland! lol.

Well if you have to cancel an appointment due to something outside your control, then fair enough. As long as you cancel it within a reasonable time frame. But ya... Most people I know are never where they're supposed to be on time. A wedding I was at a while ago... Bride and groom were there on time but half the guests weren't. *sigh*.... Ok I totally made that up
    Don't discriminate. Hate EVERYONE equally!

I think it was called “brute force and ignorance”. This post should be made a sticky for all timewasters to read.
Yeh JC, that post of Zicooo's was brilliant! That one got me ranting as well. I just hate the sub-human attitude that unfortunately is all too common out there!

On the same note, punctuality, I came across a website about doing business in Ireland and the last sentence was very telling...
"Punctuality is requested but not expected!"

No you didn't make that up LDM! That's totally true of many weddings. Hence the reason the bride always comes late - to facilitate all the other lat commers!

The last wedding I was at - the bride was held up because the best man hadn't arrived. He came running down the aisle just before the bridal procession!!! (Something about staying up too late the night before!) Honestly! It's a disease I tell you!!

Dear Doc, I think you might agree that Californians are pretty laid back (trust me, we are) , and have a pretty good sense of

humor.. Yet they are punctual.. As self respecting people should be.. I don't think the two traits (punctuality versus laidback/good

humor) necessarily cancel out eachother.. Do what you said you'd do, show up when you said you'd show up, and then chill

and just go with it Maaan (that's my surfer dude accent lol). Like totally wicked way to be, gnarly..

For me the things are simple: if somebody is making a booking and doesn't show up, he'll be automatically blacklisted and I will not take his call again.. But if somebody is making a booking and, for any reason he will call or text back to cancel, then he will surely have the 2nd chance to meet me..
