Unhappy New Sticky - Changing usernames - clients

Just read the new sticky from Samlad

    https://www.escort-ireland.com/boards/showthread.php?t=68047

I must admit that I was one of those that requested a change of username.
I even suggested if required, a thread started informing other posters of the change so that everyone was aware of change and that everything was 'above board'.

My reason for doing so was to reduce my 'profile' on this site due to the number of posts and reviews I was making.
As my request was turned down, I have withdrawn slightly from these boards.
I have also been reviewing fewer of the ladies I visit, so my name doesn't appear too high in the 'top reviewer section'.

Although escorts can opt out of the review system, I was aware that clients do not have this freedom, which was why I never asked any of my reviews to be deleted, withdrawn or suspended.

It's a pity E-I do not allow clients to change their user name, as I believe in doing so will assist certain clients now and in the future if their circumstances change.
After all, if a client feels his identity may be compromised, it may force his withdrawal from the site permanently, both in posting and reviewing!

I kind of agree with Sam and the Managment on this one. And their reasons outlined for not allowing it.

I kinda feel that it's the bed you made, now lye in it. Sort of thing.
Admittedly if someone's identity is compromised it's a serious situation for them. But coming back under a different unername is not the answer. As I don't think anyone should be allowed secretly change their name, and doing it in a public thread as you said that everyone is aware of it,only defeats the purpose of doing so.

Maybe if you want to control your future reviews you could do them in a blog ? And this will keep your review count stationary. Allowing you full control over them. Not sure it would work, but a thought non the less..

The difference with a 'public thread', is that the thread will be burried just after a few days.

As Sam has indicated, he has received a number of requests from clients.
Is this why so many new users leave the forum after a few months?

But what then if someone has missed that thread ?

Re. New users leaving. I would guess so. I think some may suddenly feel that they are creating maybe too much evidence against themselves.

    Thanks for your comments guys.

I just think there are so many new users coming and going because it's simply the nature of the business. I've seen quite a few old users that haven't really posted before joining in the topics (people with no posts but have reviews and an account from 2008/2009). I doubt very much it's down to one single factor in all honesty.

I for one do not believe you are called Mark, you'resecret is safe with me ! tend to agree it would cause to much confusion if user names were changed. its hard enough keeping up on here anyway. You could however, register under a different email address, change your name and only tell people you want to know who you are....i wonder,do you think anyones done that before ! .Any your posts might give you away.....it wasn't the sex that was important but the merging of free flowing spiritual energy between us....etc...sorry mate !!

Over the last six months I don't think I have missed a thread.
Anyway, as you know many 'friendships' are formed on the boards, so I am sure if someone returns after an absence, their 'friends' will fill them in on what they have missed.

By the way, Lucy seems to know all the banned members when they return under a different user name, without a thread explaining who they are!

Lucy seems to have a 'sixth sense' for them! LOL!

Really, the main issue is when it comes to reviewing escorts; we have found the same people out to be reviewing escorts two or three times under different usernames and that's a big problem. Like I've said before, this does compromise the reputation of not just the poster, but the escort too, so please consider that too, people. The other issue is as Mellors points out, and that's keeping track of posters. People see that a member is 'banned' because we have to close their account and then it becomes a big conspiricy theory, people complaining that a user is allowed to change their name and another not and more often than not, it's a private reason for doing so that can't be discussed. At least this way, everyone is on a level playing field.

I'm sure there are people with multiple accounts and banned users under new psuedonyms. If they haven't been noticed, that's a good thing in one sense, because it means they are abiding by the rules, however what people have a problem with is talking to a 'new' user not knowing that it's a previously banned user and this seems to agitate people (quite understandably). For the mods, it's a difficult and endless task to try to keep the balance of these things.

Yep, I'm sure more than one has already done that already.

Anyway, everyone would see through my fake name, considering the way I post and review at times

Agree with you there, Lucy seems to have a good eye for it. Mystical powers maybe !

Must admit I'm crap at spotting most of them.

I suppose what I'm not getting here is why change name if everyone is going to know who you were ?
Is it just solely to keep your review count down ?
