She declined to explain why I wouldn’t be acceptable and as I am a reasonably well adjusted male I put it down to race/colour.

Perhaps it was her way of exiting from a relationship that she felt had run its course but to this day I wonder.
Rough going Thomas, sorry it didn't work out for you in Spain.

As for me, I've been dating non-Irish women for years. I've interspersed a few Irish ladies in there for quick encounters and a bit of fun, but I haven't had a proper Irish girlfriend in over 8 years at this point. But since then (not including punting), I've dated Polish, Italian, Finnish, Tunisian, German, Greek, Spanish and Austrian. I guess the world has such a great variety of ladies, I'd love to sample them all!

Real integration will take time of course, but I don't think it's impossible, and people will open their minds to new people eventually.

    Thumbs up

Very good Cable87!!! I agree with you! I`ve just read several good opinions about this thread!!! Personally, I think that the integration between people has to happen spontaneously! And it has been out there little by little. Thannkfully I have never had any hassle according to this matter in work!!! Some people like spycing up your fantasies and look for a coloured girl, like me, or an Easter European, Finn, American girls...It doesn`t metter at all. The most important is to be happy, I believe!!!

Interesting thread- I'm from Ireland & live in New York.. it's a bit more mixed here LOL. That said, it aint quite the melting pot some presume- it's more like a mosiac, I live in a neighborhood with whites, asians, arabs & some hispanic folks, everybody gets along but if you scratch the surface you notice the amount of real mixing is modest...
Ireland is changing but it will take a while, I'm still taken aback at some people's reluctance to accept "outsiders" particularly given IRL's history of exporting our people for centuries to other places

It madness and they're only damaging themselves as a people. Like, we don't know what the future will bring. Ireland in a 100 or 200 years will be a very different place. If say for example we had our own crazy fuck like Hitler in charge then what would happen to a seperate identified ethnic group like the Travellers? Its a move that can only backfire on them. I hope they drop their ways and just integrate for their own sake and security. Get on with mordern life and develope together. Some of them are actually hot.
I'm torn re above- I get that the intended sentiment is well meaning although a true measure of a democracy is how well it protects it's minorities- if the Irish or the Jews ( or the Irish Jews) in the USA cling to their roots they can still be American, why not accomodate the Travellers (within reason) so the same can happen in the 21st Century in Western Europe?

In fairness this is hard to imagine. However I have slept with a Chinese and a Japanese man. Not at the same time

I can't understand why someone would be ashamed to leave a review, unless there are people here he knows personally and he is so ashamed they'd find out. That's sad.

I used to think it was more a generation thing rather than an Irish thing, but from reading here, it would not seem to be the case. Certainly my parents would be shocked and surprised if they knew I'd met Amber and ParisB
Thank you all the ladies I had pleasure of meeting. Forever grateful for the memories

My mum would be shocked to find out that I'd met the tall one from Only Fools and Horses lol

I come from a Muslim backround so know a thing or two about shocking the family. First time I ever took the boyfriend to meet my Grandmother she almost had a heart attack. She was sitting there in her Hijab while he sat opposite covered in tattoos and piercings

    Classic,

Not only coloured, but Muslim as well. They really would have a canary. They'd be completely shocked for sure.

I would like to think that the majority of people are more open minded now and judge a person for the who they are. Not the colour of their skin, religion, their background, how much they earn etc
