Have to admit each year it astonishes me. Watching the bikes go through the village of Kirkmichael at 170-180 mph is awesome.

For those that aren't familiar with it the TT is a motorcycle race on a 37.5 mile circuit of public roads on the isle of man.

Further details of race schedules, etc. here http://www.iomtt.com/TT-2011.aspx and some onboard footage and commentary from rider Guy Martin here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVXc29ZgutI - just listen to the speeds he talks about doing and look how close they come to the walls and other street furniture.

Yes it is crazy and very dangerous (two dead already so far this year) but as a sporting spectacle there really is nothing else like it.

And well done to McPint for win number 16!

Connor Cummings 150mph crash at last years TT. Not only did he survive but he's racing at the TT this year, brave man.

It is amazing. He had 13 hours of surgery on his spine (titanium rods down both sides), bruised lungs and a broken leg iirc. Pretty serious injuries but he made a surprisingly quick recovery with little/ no permanent injuries.
