I find that rather strange Queenie... An arrest may also be made on suspicion, if that suspicion proves to be false then no record is kept…surely?????

only offences that have gotten a conviction
count as a criminal record, not just an arrest.

There's an important distinction, an arrest WITH charge will show up on a CRB check regardless of conviction. An arrest without charge will not.

If what you are saying is actually "a fact" then the Justice system in Ireland is certainly a lot fairer than that in the UK regarding Escorts and CRB checks

Well, I was arrested in my youth but released without charge. I work as a contractor for some sensitive companies and have had a number of CRB checks done on me. I just txt'd a solicitor friend of mine who has confirmed this to be the case.

Well Im in N.ireland. UK and if your released without charge, then they cant keep a record on ya,would be agaisnt 1s human rights. so if a check is done, there is nothing to go by.

I think you might find out this not the case! They can do an enhanced CRB check which even gives information on cautions....etc etc
