Lincoln, Kennedy, Reagan or Clinton. Just picking one, I'll say Lincoln.

It's difficult to answer that question, because they were all operating under very different circumstances. FDR, for example, accomplished a lot, but he had a huge majority in Congress and a country desperate for radical change. No president in my lifetime has had either, so it's not surprising if they have accomplished less. Washington was head of a banana republic. Obama is head of what is still more or less a superpower.

In general politicians seem to be of one of two types. You have the ones who are very good at getting and keeping power, but have f**k all idea what to do with it. Clinton would be a prime example. Then you have the ones who mean well, but don't know how to get anything done. Carter was one. So was Kennedy, really. What did Kennedy actually do? If we exclude Obama, who's not done being president yet, there's only been one US president since the war who knew how to use power and who used it (mostly) for good, and he's not on your list: Lyndon Johnson.

“I wish you wouldn’t keep appearing and vanishing so suddenly; you make one quite giddy!”
“All right,” said the Cat; and this time it vanished quite slowly, beginning with the end of the tail, and ending with the grin, which remained some time after the rest of it had gone.

I love it when I watch Fox News and see them big up their 100% white, Anglo-Saxon Protestant, slave-trading/owning fundamentalist Christian founding fathers as the greatest human beings who ever lived

Best President, for me, would be FDR, or Jefferson.
