    Default What a tosser!

Ken Clarke, the UK Justice secretary, made a couple of way out comments:

    1. Date rape is not always rape!

    2. Sex with underage childern might not qualify as rape "in the ordinary conversational sense".

    What is this guy on.

    Rape is rape....end of!

This was reported in today's Irish Indo.

How did this guy get to his current position and should he resign?

I saw this last night. He prolly just phrased his initial response incorrectly. That being said he should have made no mistakes and clarified immediately what he meant.

Think he is trying to "clarify" his remarks.

    Smacks of back-peddling to me.

DSK is also trying to clarify the definition of rape, and I sure hope it doesn't pan out in his favour!!.

there is a gulf of difference between date rape and stranger rape (guy behind bush)
people rarely invent a case of stranger rape, but sadly, in many cases of date rape
the complaint conceals an ulterior motive. i haven't yet read what he said but he
would never go public with such comments without foundation. at school many girls
14+ boasted about their sex lives-but the law classifies same as rape?

Personally I think DSK was set up by the US, I don't think a person in his position would dare do something like that. I know I sound like a conspiracy nutjob saying so but the whole thing just stinks.

correct me if i'm wrong but his identity would remain anonymous
until proven guilty under the Irish system.

as it stands now, whichever is the case, isn't much harm done?

Much as I like a good conspiracy theory, this one doesn't make much sense. The US doesn't really have a motive, nor does the NYPD. Also, DSK was well known for doing this sort of thing even before he moved to New York to take up the IMF job. Obviously he deserves a fair trial, but I would be very surprised if he turned out to be innocent.

“I wish you wouldn’t keep appearing and vanishing so suddenly; you make one quite giddy!”
“All right,” said the Cat; and this time it vanished quite slowly, beginning with the end of the tail, and ending with the grin, which remained some time after the rest of it had gone.

somebody working as a chambermaid would have access to DNA material.
if i had a big job like that, i think i would sooner dial a call girl, than risk
the rest of my life in the slammer.
