    Default Barmen not guilty

The bar manager and barman accused of manslaughter of an English man in 2008
Were found not guilty today, the man was believed to have drank a cocktail of between 8-10 spirits in one go,later dying of alcohol poisoning. Mr.dalton(barman) served the drink and the order was cleared by bar manager(mr.Wright)...
My question-do you guys think they should have been charged or not?
Wile understanding it is outrages to serve someone that many drinks at once, and it was new laws and legislations that but them in the firing line, should they be responsible for what an adult decides to drink etc...

*newsflash* this just in perverted judge seen this morning on nationwide

Tricky one but on balance I don't think they should have been charged -

They should have been found guilty and jailed, part of any responsible bar staffs job is to refuse to serve anyone that in their opinion has had enough to drink. To pour ten measures into one glass and then claim he thought they were going to share it was a blatant lie.

The one good thing to come out of the case is you can bet ALL bar staff will now be acting more responsible in future.

    It is a tricky one

Is the bar responsible for the wellbeing of itsn clientel considering there is a good chance that a lot of them will not be able to make decesions as they will be inhibriated. Honestly I think that he should not ahve been served that amount of drink at any stage but then again if he bought them in an off licence or Dunnes etc would they be held accountable for teh same outcome?

not really CJ ,as the law stands if one gets away with it by law someone else cannot be charged on the same subject

IT is a difficult one but my own opinion is they should not have been charged.

I think it will put all other Bar staff on notice that they have to be responsible about serving drink. A good result

No mate that's like saying if a rapist is found not guilty then all rapists will be found not guilty, each case will be judged on it's own merits.
