I was thinking how at one time there was no way of reviewing escorts (numbers were in shop windows etc and you took your chances) and decided that reviews must be a fairly recent thing which the internet has facilitated.
However, I watched a documentary about Pompeii. In the brothels, reviews have been discovered etched into the plaster outside each particular lady's room!

I would never look upon an escort as being subjugated to a client.
I agree that one is as important as the other, without one party the business would cease to exist. However, I do believe that escorts should have the right to opt out of reviews unconditionally. An escorts right for opting out will always outweigh a clients right for information about her service.

    Don't go giving people ideas.

“I wish you wouldn’t keep appearing and vanishing so suddenly; you make one quite giddy!”
“All right,” said the Cat; and this time it vanished quite slowly, beginning with the end of the tail, and ending with the grin, which remained some time after the rest of it had gone.

Perhaps I phrased my post wrong.

In the general cycle of things, yes, the clients are of course on the same level of importance. Without clients there would be no escorts and without escorts there would be no clients.

What I meant was in regards to the general running of a website I am of the opinion the paying advertiser should be more important. We pay heaps for a simple page on this website so surely the client who simply uses it to facilitate a hobby shouldn't have the same rights as an escort?

The opt out of reviews thing has been explained to be something that has been implemented to benefit the escort- for privacy etc. Some escorts agree some disagree. I personally feel that something like a note on a profile stating the amount of positives and negatives were on a profile is a good idea- the opting out shouldn't be used to con the client but to force reviews to stay up is absurd.

It is true, I went to Pompeii a couple of years ago. They also had paintings above the doors depicting the speciality the ladies offered. It was fascinating stuff.

I went there myself a couple of years ago and found it all fascinating..but I didnt get to see everything. Foolishly I went at lunchtime and it was so bloody hot I was mostly keeping the stray dogs company in the shade!
The brothel was one of the areas which I missed.
    Another holiday to Sorrento methinks

I went in the wrong gate and ended up seeing mainly the brothels and work shops. I saw some villas though, and a bit of the temples, and then gave up and laid panting. Definitely worth going back for, I was just nosying at flights. I am awfully glad I wasnt around in 79AD, but then again,. after Ireland it would be a walk in the park

I think the system is as good as it's going to get. There's always a compromise. Escorts have the right to turn off their reviews - and clients have the right to ring the escort they wish to chose.

If, like me, you are sceptical of escorts who opt out or who do not have reviews from punters I trust or not very many reviews at all, then just don't book that escort.

The client picks the escort - you're not being forced to see anyone. It's also about two people interacting. It's not always going to work out.
Retired from punting, yet still here?

For the record, I'm not suggesting the system should be changed. I didn't express an opinion at all. But earlier in the thread some of the posts were implying that things are the way they are because escorts fund the site and clients don't. I was just pointing out that this isn't really an argument between escorts and clients. The are some of each group on each side of the issue.

As previous posters have mentioned, the easiest solution is to avoid those who opt out of reviews given your experiences.
