    Thumbs up a classy lady

the countdown to Queen Elizibeth's visit is underway.
this is a historic event as its almost 100 years since a head
of UK monarchy visited these shores.

if you're caught up by history, fair enough, but please
don't post anything derogatory in this thread.

A great Lady with a phenomenal work rate for her age and the money generated from her visit will be a welcome boost to the Irish economy, the estimate is her grandsons wedding put over a billion pounds into the UK coffers.

cant see the big deal in her visit
if our president went over to uk it would barely be reported on

Historic visits indeed! The Queen followed by President Obama (not that he'll be the first President to visit our shores) all within this year. And yes, as CityGent has said - I hope both visits bring some boost to the economy. (And a reminder that we're not at war with Britain anymore!)

I think one off the reasons Obama is coming is voting power from the Irish american community but it will be good for the country and I think morph is right when he says we are not war anymore I think people are moving on and away from all that look life is too short.

Two sweeping statements neither of which hold water.
