Ah, now that I can't argue. You know, ironically, the system slows down because the techies are actually updating the system to ensure it does run smoothly (most of the time). Now as a geek myself, just take that explanation as 'geek' spiel

Yep, they must have been an awful lot of updating yesterday, pulling teeth this site was like.. and tell them to feck off updating at 6pm all the time..

If someone is doing it consistently then something should probably be done. But I can see how people can make honest mistakes, so I would be lenient with first offenders.
