Ah, yes. Money. Time for a swim, I think.

“I wish you wouldn’t keep appearing and vanishing so suddenly; you make one quite giddy!”
“All right,” said the Cat; and this time it vanished quite slowly, beginning with the end of the tail, and ending with the grin, which remained some time after the rest of it had gone.

The 10 HKD note is unusual. Looks cool, and feels like it is made of plastic rather than paper

I like the austrailian notes because they're tuff and water proof. But its just money, I won't worship or admire it too much.

I detest Viatnamese money. Getting 19,000 Dong to one USD is frustrating. I can't help but feel guilty when I spend 40,000 VD on a smoothie! Alos in Cambodia their issues with money are ridiculous. The cambodian money is so old and worn out but they except USD as standard too. I remember when I had an ever so slightly ripped $10 note being told in the bank they would only give me $8 dollars worth of local currency for it as it was ripped! Madness.

the same thing happened me in bars and restaurants in Cambodia. Unless the dollar notes were perfect they wouldn't accept them. very annoying.

I really don't have any sentimental attachment to bank notes. Money is money to me. I used to hate the old punt notes - as the 20 punt notes could barely fit into my wallet. They were also very difficult to change when abroad.

I was delighted when we switched over to the Euro - as it can be used across Europe and saves me the bother of changing money before visiting the continent.

I find US dollars very confusing as they are all the same size and colour. Have had a few embarrassing situations when I've handed over the wrong change when in the U.S. Mind you, New York cab drivers let you know pretty quickly!
