Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, 1997

Harassment. 10.—(1) Any person who, without lawful authority or reasonable excuse, by any means including by use of the telephone, harasses another by persistently following, watching, pestering, besetting or communicating with him or her, shall be guilty of an offence.

(2) For the purposes of this section a person harasses another where—

( a ) he or she, by his or her acts intentionally or recklessly, seriously interferes with the other's peace and privacy or causes alarm, distress or harm to the other, and

( b ) his or her acts are such that a reasonable person would realise that the acts would seriously interfere with the other's peace and privacy or cause alarm, distress or harm to the other.

(3) Where a person is guilty of an offence under subsection (1), the court may, in addition to or as an alternative to any other penalty, order that the person shall not, for such period as the court may, specify, communicate by any means with the other person or that the person shall not approach within such distance as the court shall specify of the place of residence or employment of the other person.

(4) A person who fails to comply with the terms of an order under subsection (3) shall be guilty of an offence.

(5) If on the evidence the court is not satisfied that the person should be convicted of an offence under subsection (1), the court may nevertheless make an order under subsection (3) upon an application to it in that behalf if, having regard to the evidence, the court is satisfied that it is in the interests of justice so to do.

(6) A person guilty of an offence under this section shall be liable—

( a ) on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1,500 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or to both, or

( b ) on conviction on indictment to a fine or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 7 years or to both.

We do our best there, but unfortunately the nature of this business is that - however hard we try - there are always going to be some problems with escorts being dishonest in their advertising here.

The only way we could ever guarantee there was no false escort info here is if we personally controlled all the escorts on this website, but we don't and never will do that, because we are an escort DIRECTORY not an escort AGENCY.

Also, posting personal info of someone here without their consent is arguably a lot more more serious than an escort being dishonest in her ad I think.

Of course it is annoying that you can look at escort ad here, then go see the escort and find she is not everything she said she was, but this experience will probably not destroy your life.

Having your personal information published here can cause massive personal problems for people though, problems more serious than having your time etc wasted.

Hi,

All of these girls have done something (like take a photo of themselves holding a peice of paper saying 'E-I') in order to verify they do look like the person in the photos they have submitted. Can you (or anyone else) point us in the direction of evidence that any of these photos are fake? I will ask our advertising department to look into all these cases anyway, but some proof photos are fake and mistakes have been made would be very welcome if this is the case.

I was just reading the thread and commentary about how the girls send in photos to you to 'verify' that they look like the girls that we punters see in the photos that end up on the site. Well, I'm not sure what level of scrutiny you subject these photos to, but I must say that there are still some photos getting by that are obvious fakes, and there is at least one such photo up on the site RIGHT NOW.



'Brenda', a girl claiming to be Portugese, whose listing is up right now for Dublin City, is using photos of porn actress Amy Reid with the face blurred out as if they were her own photos! A simple Google search of the name Amy Reid will quickly and easily confirm this; I imagine you might be able to find the EXACT SAME photos if you just spent a few minutes!


And the ironic part is that 'Brenda's photos are currently listed as being 'Verified' under your own system! Now I can understand if girls don't always like to have their faces or other features that could make them easily distinguisable from others up on the site; I have always known and respected the ladies right to discretion and privacy. But using such obviously fake photos, and then letting them get by your screening process so easily, I wonder how easily a fake photo might actually get by you folks. All this is combined with the fact that'Brenda' has opted-out of the review system, thus not allowing for others to warn each other that her photos are obvious fakes. Please remedy this if you can, and please do keep a look out for such obvious fakes in the future.

Needless to say Brenda's photos have been removed.

Those photos looked totally fake to me the moment I looked at them, so how Sarah/Natasha (our advertising staff) decided they were genuine I don't know.

I'm guessing they never intended to verify them genuine, but in a simple case of human error did so.

I'll bring this thread to their attention.
