Its easy to get the location.........................................
but the name and address is very hard.If its a static ip address for say a company then you would have to be able to access the ip providers database.Originally Posted by mrsbrown
If its not a static ip then forget it because they would more than likely be assigned a different ip each time.
Thats my guess.Overall alot of trouble for very little. If your being hassled its easier to change email a/cs etc then it is to try and chase the hassler down.

for you as person trying to get someones name & address from an ip address then no chance it cant happen ... i work in the abuse dept of a top 3 uk ISP and i can tell you that only certain people within that company can get a telephone number from both static and dynamic ip's .... a dynamic ip address (diff one each time) is easily traced to a specific tel no through radius trace software as its a digital signal that has been assigned to a specific adsl enabled line at any one time ...........we would only know the address should the police want the information that we know (tel no) to then trace via BT to what address that telephone line was assigned to
so unless your doing something very dodgy then dont worry and if your trying to trace someone then forget it
