Default Anyone else know the answer?

If you were to dig a hole from the centre of Ireland (Dublin) straight through the Earth where would you end up?

Obviously for this we are going to ignore all the real factors such as gravity, pressure, temperature, the Earths core being made of iron etc.

First person with the correct answer gets a hug!!

I assume you mean straight down and not at some random angle. If so, then it's surely somewhere in the southern Pacific, east of New Zealand?

In any film or cartoon I've seen about this, no matter where they start digging, they always end up in China upside down!!

yeah, I think it would be in the water just north east of NZ.

(at least, that's the info Michael Lowry gave me when I promised him half of the hug I'm getting for winning)
