    Lightbulb self employed

i think i've had 20+ jobs, a good bit of experience,
didn't really like any of them. i always expected to be self employed
at school but didn't see some of the challenges or blanked the bit when
sucessful people said "and a lot of really hard work".

but generally, i'm not typically a team player and like
to be in control of my life, if at all possible.
    what's your preference here?

Now I have experienced being self employed for a number of years I could NEVER go back to being an employee.
If the various businesses failed in the morning I'd find something to buy from somwhere to sell to somebody somewhere somehow or other.
I just couldnt work for someone else again, I just couldnt do it.

To be self employed is somewhere I'd like to go. I am absolutely crap at sales though which is a worry.

But at the end of the day, I always feel why work hard to line someone elses pocket when you can work hard and line your own ? It's a no brainer really.

I have been self employed for over 15yrs and couldn't go back to working for somebody. Had a couple of interesting paid jobs in the past, but always arseholes for bosses. Not a 9 to 5 er and not keen on the corporate system.
It's not all wine and roses though running your own business, its hard work, financially insecure and expensive in this country.

If it was that easy we would be all at it there is a lot to be sad for a nine to five job I think a big problem for self employed people at the moment is getting payed .

Aye, you risk everything to start and could lose everything at any time.
Along the way is real hard work. Think of the hardest you have worked in any job and double it.

I have not had more than a four day holiday for the last three years while people working for me have been to Vegas, Bahamas etc.
There will be periods where you take no money out of the business but you still have to pay everyone who works for you.

On the other hand when you do get to take money out its a big payday.

clients are the bosses when you employ yourself/others.
