    Default Laptops issue - tec help pls

    I could do with Anon at the mo but my laptop has me worried, I just tipped of the metal roundy head set socket at the front with my finger and got a really strong electric shock from it, it should be grounded same as everything but its not a major appliance and should not need its own earth but whats going on and how would I resolve this? Brand new laptop all topish spec etc.

    Take it back to where you got it, you could have a loose connection that if not sorted could end up burning your place to the ground. Happened to an aquaitence of mine a few years back

    sorry, I heard about blokes like you

    I was wearing doc martins, pretty well insulated, I have to test some electric fence wire everyday and fastest way to that is to catch it so I am used to shocks but these boots lessen that shock but wow the laptop gave me a Liverpool special hairdo (all rite all rite chalm down chalm down )

    It's a laptop so it can run from the battery right? I bet that you will not get a shock when running it from the battery without having the power supply plugged in. So you could delete your photos while on battery power.

    For the future, have a look at a piece of software called truecrypt. If used correctly, it can hide the content of a hard disk to the extent that major governments will be unable to tell what sort of tractors you prefer.
