Back then a punters nightmare Kelso , as ther was nearly always someone else who wanted to use it . You think of it our mobile is the first thing we look for in the morning we'd be lost without them now .

You had to do personal visits to the Pepper Canister church, Fitzwilliam Square or Arbour Hill in Dublin so I'm told.
Don't know where you had to go in Cork, Limerick, Galway, Ballygobackwards etc.

I'm old enough to remember when you had to crank a handle on the side of the phone to get through to the operator to get connected and then chances were the nosy old cow would listen in on your call. The telephonist, the source of all gossip and rumour!
