    Default 'The Truth!'

I'd like to make a comment about the whole issue surrounding speculation.

A couple of posters have made more ambiguous statements claiming that we know more than we are letting on simply because we had to be quiet about one particular investigation we were undergoing.

Words have been thrown into the mix such as 'the truth', 'pimps', 'revelations' and suchlike, and 'more to follow', and to be honest, all this rhetoric propaganda is becoming rather tiresome.

It seems we are in a situation that we are 'damned if we do, damned if we don't'. From what I can see, some people have really appreciated the work we have done surrounding the recent investigation that we had undertaken (and thank you to those who helped give us information and gave us the support). However, there is the other side to this whereby people are now debating some sort of conspiracy theory, trying to undermine and damage the credibility of the site.

Behind the scenes, we are constantly working to try and improve the quality and services of the site; we are aware that we can't please everyone, and that's fair enough. There is room for constructive critisism and disagreements, but one thing we won't tollerate is for people to use the message boards as a means to intentionally discredit the site. This becomes more apparent when we remove one of these ambiguous threads and another one pops up in it's place asking where the original thread went; it is intentionally done to create speculation.

Look, for those that are using this tactic, I would encourage you to be sensible about things. If you have any concerns about the site or you have any information that might help us improve things or you feel is an immediate thread to E-I, the most sensible and obvious thing to do is to PM myself or Nicole with the information and we can look into it. If you choose to take the vigilante approach or the 'we will not be silenced' approach, we won't entertain it.

There will always be allegations, rumours, people jumping to conclusions Sam.
I saw ExP's thread 'EI to close' and just thought it was ExP being ExP. Strange, but harmless
It would appear these days that anything said against E-I is immediately removed and that the E-I crew are becoming paranoid. Lighten up ffs!!!

We would all love to know everything that's going on, that's human nature and Irish people love to know everyone elses business.
The recent unexplained bannings were bound to cause speculation and it will continue to be like that. I accept that there was a lot of investigative work done behind the scenes and there may be reasons why you cannot divulge the full story behind the bannings, but a lot of members are confused by bannings because they are not party to the 'full story' and E-I contribute to that confusion by constantly clamming up and making cryptic statements.

I think there is too much moderation on this site and I'm not the sort to incur the wrath of moderators, so imagine how those that sail close to the wind feel!!!
The forum is for the members and escorts to have discussions/comments on all manner of topics. It can be great craic reading some of the more obscure stuff, but the bannings and infractions make it seem like a police state sometimes.

Simple explanations, without going into great detail, for the reasons behind infractions or bannings shouldn't be a problem. It's not giving an explanation that increases the likelihood of problems as members start discussing things and making assumptions.

Let all the E-I managers and mods take a chill pill.

Agree with you 100% there Forrest. Just want to add that the lack of clarity on banning only goes to fuel the conspiracy theory ect..

Just wanted to add that I certainly appreciate the work that is put in by mods and staff in the background.

I respect your point Forrest, but should it not be for the moderation, this site really would be all over the place. There is nothing wrong with people making a comment about the site and its flaws, but ambiguous comments such as the one Ex Punter started doesn't really help things.

Let me be blunt here with regards to the level of information we can give out... for legal reasons, we can't give everything out. It's really that simple. We know that everyone is curious, but it's not appropriate to give out too much information no matter how much speculation goes on. I gave a simple explanation regarding the recent incident in the original post, and I agree that should have been simple enough to follow.

I don't think I need to lighten up at all. Personally, I think I'm very laid back and take things in my stride.

Mods and managers are chilled out enough without having to take a pill

We're damned if we do and damned if we don't. If nothing was done there would be alot of people giving out to us why isn't anything getting done. When something is done people still give out. I've been on other sites before I came to ei and I can tell you this isn't overly moderated compared to those. People don't just get banned for no good reason. If they were I would be the first to speak out. I wouldn't be here long if this was the case.

I became a mod for the benefit of escorts and posters that use this site . In all my time here I don't think I have every insulted anyone and would consider myself very chilled out . As op said there are those who just want to get a kick out of stirring shit here , if that was allowed where do people think this site would be . Any actions I take will always be in the interest of escorts and posters alike ,

I like ExP, he is quirky. Most of his threads are quirky and most people take them for what they are. It's not that long ago someone started a thread stating that ExP had expressed a dying wish for everyone on the forum to be made aware of his death. I doubt if anyone took it seriously. His thread this morning would have died a similar death, if left alone.
Moderation is fine, in moderation!!! Sometimes the actions are too impulsive from mods and I'm saying that from the point of view of someone that doesn't, generally, cause offense. Maybe you should try 'not moderating' for a day and let us all see what actually happens.
I don't get the 'legal reasons' response either. Who is going to sue E-I for being banned unfairly under a profile name Who are E-I going to take to court for creating multiple profiles and posting false reviews.
I don't know you Sam, so I will have to accept that you are laid back. I do know that you try to be fair on here and appreciate that you have reversed decisions sometimes, in the clear light of day. I have re-read the original thread about the bannings, but it's still very vague to me. Anyway, I will leave it at that.

sam, one simple question which you should be able to answer on this matter, and it is this, you and others have mentioned "for legal reasons," ok, the question is this has the affair reached a point where this may have to be the path taken by EI, if so most will accept your position,by answering it you give nothing away, but you do give some valid reason as to the silence

It's legal in terms of liable; not only that, misguided information can also lead to other unneccessary speculation and leads to people giving out personal details of particular people, so you can appreciate that we need to avoid this too. I've given the basics of this investigation and cannot go into any more detail, so I appreciate you leaving it there. As for not modding for a day, that would just be plain stupid. You should see the number of reported posts, reported reviews, fake photo reports and bad client reports we receive on a daily basis!

It's all about perception HWM. I have seen threads that have been allowed to run and run, when I thought it would have been better to close them, and I have seen threads closed/removed when, in my opinion, they didn't need to be. Maybe that's why I'm not a mod
