The last two weeks have been abnormally bad and I would think it has tested patience of the whole E-I team, but also it has more than likely tested the patience of your paying customers, the escorts, to the limit. Fair play to them for not creating more of a fuss when their source of income was being affected by so much down time for their profiles.
Let's hope all the problems are resolved soon.

Btw, I still can't access the site from my office computer so I'm getting loads of work done. Thanks for that.
You know, I know it's probably not really the best basis for comparison, but firemen save lives but are paid for it. We have to bear in mind that when the site goes down, the absolute priority for us is to get the escorts access to the Ugly Mugs section so that their security and saftey is the one thing they an access. Okay, so it's not putting out burning buildings, but this really helps the escorts to weed out the bad guys and has probably saved a lot of escorts from potential danger and harm.

Escort safety and security is above all our priority, and yes, the guys are paid to do their job, but these guys really do go that extra mile, working night and day to ensure that things run smoothly. One thing I've learned about working here is that we all work beyond our means because we enjoy what we do and love to help people out generally; we all care. Comments like "Well, you're paid to do it" really go over my head because it's realy not a true snap shot of the attitude we have here, but everyone has a different perspective so fair enough.

Most people that care about their job 'go the extra mile', and that is why they are successful.
I know that my job involves a lot of work that is taken for granted, so my apologies if you thought I was having a go.
It's great that you have such a great working environment and everyone has such a great attitude, well done E-I.
    Any jobs(paying) going

You know, not everyone who works here is paid, fella. And the ones that are paid only take the money because it's there if they need it and it is needed, not because they are doing the job to get it in the first place. I go the 'extra mile' not because I'm a man of business, but a I am a people person; before this I worked in the education sector (teaching) not for the money (because it was shite), but because I want to help people better themselves. Though talking to the guys and girls that work here, we all seem to share the same sentiment. I didn't think you were having a go, Forrest. I just thought it would be a good opportunity to express how we all feel here.

Mammy must be losing her touch, praising people for doing what they get paid to do. You probably lay on tea and biscuits for the fuckers to take breaks with while the site is down.

It's certainly interesting to hear your views Sam.
Maybe it's the mercenary, capitalist in me, but I don't understand why any of E-I's staff would want to work for nothing, when the business is obviously very profitable. I had heard that some of the mods worked on a voluntary basis but, given that it's a thankless task some of the time, I often wondered why.
Charity begins at home is my motto, so I take my (invisible) hat off to those of you that are not in receipt of any payment.

To be fair, I am paid myself! LOL! But you know, people who know me will tell you that I'm not exactly materialistic, and I do sit on the boards most of the time despite being paid for a set number of hours. I love the job, and if I could get by without the money I would do it for free anyway.

Look what's happened! This has been taken way off topic.

Techies, once again, cheers! A great bunch of lads

It's a matter of perspective. I get morally rewarded for working here knowing that we have contributed to escort saftey and tried to keep people as happy as possible on the boards. I left the life of working for bonuses and incentives long ago, but to be honest, I find working for E-I far more rewarding that a few dangling carrots

Yeah, but it's not like you can tell your mum what you do for a living next time you call round for lunch on Sunday.

"So what's your new job, son?"

"Well, I enable prostitution by managing a message board for a website where escorts advertise for clients."

    "That's nice, dear."
