    Greetings from the Land of the (not so) Free;
    the answer is : NO
~over here punting (outside of Providence, Rhode Island & some parts of Nevada) is completely illegal but from what I ..ahem.. read there are more punters per capita than any other country in the developed world- go figure ( as the yanks say ;-> )

"judge, we have here a profile printout from a website
specialising in prostitution. the accused made 3 calls (prior to arrest and caution)
to the number quoted in said profile. we arrested the accused at the
front entrance to a rental apartment tenanted by the person in the profile at 11:59 am.
we allege that the accused intended to visit this person to pay for sexual services."

There are good debates and information on this in the "Turn off the Blue light" section of the forum.

If this legislation is passed - which the Labour party have promised to bring in, it will be the end to my punting.

Convictions are not necessarily required. From what I understand the summons to appear in court will be sent to your workplace etc.. its all to embarass and humiliate punters. Extreme proponents of this legislation are pushing for convicted punters to be put on the 'sex offenders registry'!!! - along with rapists and child abusers!!!

I have way too much to lose to even risk suspicion.

I suspect I will stop all together for a year or so and see how the guards and courts actually implement the law. If it isn't really enforced I might venture back into the forray. Otherwise I will just be making regular trips to other parts of Europe where its safer to see escorts.

My fear is that there will be an immediate drop off in business if the law is passed and a lot of the more established escorts will leave for sunnier climes. It will just be brief touring escorts or agency girls that will be left - making it all the more dangerous for punters to be caught out.

I note from the comments that some on these boards haven't heard much about this proposed legislation. It is a real threat. See "Turn off the red light campaign" website.

However, all is not lost. See Patricia's comments on the "Turn off the blue light" section.

Patricia and co have also started a competitor website:
Turn Off The Blue Light | Sex workers need human rights, not legal wrongs

She needs help and comments for the website , so don't all hold back at once!

    Aye, manpower is the key.
It depends on how much they want to devote to it.
To sart with they would have to make a show of doing something about it.

I think it may develop into a situation where outcalls are the norm rather than incalls.

If it does get out of hand with enforcement I think Ryanair will see a spike in ticket sales.
Cheap flight to UK along with a cheap hotel room and a visit from a lady or a visit to a sex club there once a month in place of a twice a month punt.
