To give an honest and serious answer...
Usually, the client is outdoors on the street. It's hard to hear, there is traffic, might be windy also. We might struggle with girls accent etc. I'm an intelligent enough guy, not hard of hearing either, but I've had plenty of frustration with this over the years.
If I don't get the directions straight off I usually ask for the address or directions on a text.
In fact some girls who don't have great English, have the directions saved on their phone so they can copy/paste into a message and that's a great idea.
