    Default Man U v Wigan

Another less than inspiring display by the reds in my opinion.

Scoreline very harsh on Wigan who gave it a good go.

Kinda says it all when Van Der Saar gets man of the match.

What is worrying me as a United fan is do they have another gear to change in to, now that the big games are coming up. People keep saying about how United normally kick on at this stage of the season, and while they have in the past I am not sure if this team are able to .

Teams like Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool etc will not be as wayward in front of goal as Wigan were today I don't think.

United have, so far, managed to rise to the occasion and win against the bigger teams, albeit fortuitously at times.
    Arsenal 1 -0, City 2 - 1, Spurs 2 - 0, Liverpool 3 - 2 at home and drawn with Cit & Spurs away 0 - 0.

The next two games will go a long way to determining United's season. Six points and I think they will win the league. Two draws and Arsenal become slight favourites.

Very true Forrest but you hit the nail on the head, sometimes it was with a small degree of good luck.

If any of the home games you mentioned ended in a draw I dont think United could have had too many complaints.

The next week and a half is a defing period in their season I reckon.

Did you not notice Mc Carthy deliberately moved across to block Rooney's run to close down the ball, and stuck his hip out as Rooney passed him. What Rooney did was stupid and unnecessary, but McCarthy's actions were just as deliberate.

Rooney has been doing some silly stuff this season, along with the brilliance, and he definitely seems to be on the edge of losing the plot totally.
