Why ban Alec Horan?

Wow! I wish I hadn't gone out for half an hour.

Alec was banned due to a high level of complaints about the thread. As it happens, we have been discussing this in the mods forum today and we are debating a reducution of the ban.

No, I actually meant another thread that has gone from the sublime to the unreadable, but that isnt really the issue Exp. You are many things but you are never boring I can assure you.

you know I've never reported a post/thread I mean the only time it comes to my attention is when I read like a thread like this thread which says others reported something I see no reason myself to report things why cant people just take it on the chin I do now remember that thread Alec H said Irish people were a shower of Wankers over politics behaviour so on twas funny seems like it was taken out of context if thats the case it would be no harm to remind moderators we are all over 18 here...

That's good news Samlad. But would it not be better to give a 'sinbin' type ban for maybe 24hrs for all offences, and then have it discussed amongst management and mods, before making the decision on the appropriate length of bans.
There seems to be a lot of 'spur of the moment' decisions regarding infractions and bans that lead to threads like this, that could be avoided.
