As a United fan and on a greedy note I would like to see someone beat Barca just to get them out of the way but I cant see Arsenal doing it. They will try to take Barca on in a football match and I fear just like last year they will come out second best.
Thats no disgrace to Arsenal, look at Real losing 5-0 to them and they are second favourites for the Champions league.

If you look at it, the only 2 teams to beat Barca in the past 3 years were United and Inter, and both times they adopted a defensive approach to the game, so IMO that is the only way someone will stop them as well this year.

    Anyway, just my tuppence worth.
thats what i said...except you said it way better!!!...but you forgot accrington stanley...lol

That last game at New Highbury, whatever it is called, those first 60 minutes is probably the best football I have ever seen by any team. Arsenal don't have the players to do anything else but to try and go out and play and they are not even close to being as good on the ball as Barca.
I agree with you takemedrunk, they are probably the best club team I have seen, better than Milan and perhaps even better than us (LFC) in the 80's or the Ajax team in the 70's. They are frighteningly good on the ball and they score goals for fun it seems.
I just hope this game is anywhere near as good as that last game at new highbury and we are really in for a treat tomorrow.

Oh and gotta love how you just missed out on LFC beating them 4 years ago.... Also with a defensive approach though.

No. I have to admit Arsenal will get a hiding. If Newcastle can come back from 4-0 down what can barcelona do 10 men or not? Arsenal are going to need 5 clear golas to win The only way Arsenal have a chance if they defend well which they won't. And if Barca aren't as good as normal. The first game might be tight. Barca will run away with it in the second leg.

I agree Benny. One look at the remainig fixtures Arsenal and United have and you have to say that Arsenals are a lot more appealing. You could easily see where United will drop points on those difficult away games.

The league is not as cut and dry as the 4/7 price for United suggests in my opinion.

Being the die hard fan that i am i have to be fairly realistic and say that we will have to have a major slice of luck to beat them but in fairness i don't really see any team beating barca over two legs...
I have lived a life of regrets.
