Getting older...

As I get older I find it harder to respect certain people. Take cops for example, stopped at a check point the other night and this spotty adolescent in uniform starts questioning me. Ended up in a row and damn near got arrested.
On the plus side though, more and more escorts are getting younger than me! Hurrah!

That specific benefit of getting older just makes me feel more guilty. Although admitedly the guilt only lasts all of 10 seconds! Which is a good thing as with these fine young things I don't last much longer than that!

very true, why should you respect someone just because of their job and not by the type of person they are??? most guards i know are prick esp. traffic core!!!! lost all respect for nurses lately too

It's your car. Different cars invoke different reactions from the Gardai.

Traffic cops are well known to be the a***h***s of the force. Even "normal" guards will tell you that the traffic guys are just dicks. Don't know why. Maybe there's something about Dublin Castle that sends them on a power trip.

But yeah, generally speaking as you grow older and another generation or two comes in behind you, tolerance for them diminishes and you become your parents .... disapproving of everything they do. I often dispair at the "music" they listen to these days, it's pure rubbish .... there's no substance to it at all.

My favourite gripe though is with the younger generation of Aer Lingus cabin crew. There aren't many of them (most AL cabin crew are old women) but for what there are of them I find them to be the most ignorant stuck up b*****s on the face of the planet. Seems they think that passengers are just an inconvenience to be tolerated. Sour pusses.
